Hello everyone,
Today my cross country runner and I left AUK for VAK (Chevak.) It was nice to leave work a few hours early. As always, it is so much fun to fly on a bush plane.
When we arrived, we met up with a few other friends from the different sites and walked to the AC (Alaska Commercial) store. It is different going to a store that has a bigger variety, but that is what makes it feel like a mini-vacation.
My runner is competing at noon tomorrow so wish her the best of luck. If she places in the top ten again then we head to Anchorage for state next week. She has worked very hard and I am proud of her no matter what place she takes tomorrow.
I leave for my home village around 3pm Alaskan time. I can't wait to see my lovely wife and what new tricks my smart Alusky puppy, Bella has learned.
P.S. Lauren and I are pretty sure she taught herself how to use the bells that dogs use to communicate they need to poop/pee on her own last night. Here's hoping she is the world's smartest dog.
